Saturns Leaves Libra – Final Exam Time!!

by mlennox on September 18, 2012

It’s final exam time, so get your number two pencils sharpened! Saturn is changing signs and the karmic taskmaster is going to make sure we’ve learned all we can in his last moments in the sign of Libra before he crosses over into the realm of Scorpio. In a year of over-the-top energies, we are in one of the biggest 28-day lunar cycles of the entire year, and it all started with the New Moon in Virgo this past weekend. Between now and the next New Moon in mid-October, the entire landscape of our consciousness is going to change.

Both the Sun and the Moon were in the sign of Virgo over the weekend. Virgo is the archetype that governs how all of the systems of the body/heart/mind/spirit work together in the profound way that they do. All of the zodiacal archetypes exist on a continuum of polarities, and the Virgo/Pisces polarity is about spiritual mastery. The Pisces side of the spectrum is where Spirit dwells and the Virgo side of the spectrum is about how we bring that spiritual power into our daily experience. This rebirthing of our spiritual mastery is of the highest order and just in time for what is about to come.

Let’s review what Saturn in Libra has been calling us to understand and embody over the past two-and-a-half years. Libra rules balance, wholeness, integration and the principle of the mirrored Self. In other words, there is no “out there” out there; everything we experience in our outside world is a direct reflection of what is happening in our inner landscape. Saturn expects us to take full responsibility for this principle.

What this means is, you don’t get to blame others for your upsets. When you’re bothered by what someone else is doing, your job is to turn the mirror around and look at what your part is and take responsibility for that. You have to do this even when others are behaving badly, which is of course when this is the most difficult to do. You don’t get to judge others. Your job is to recognize that all judgments are simply opportunities to step into forgiveness. You also don’t get to be miserable because you think the world is in terrible shape. If the chaos in the world is troubling, then you are focusing on the wrong things. Your job as a responsible and conscious person is to focus only on peace; even if the peace you can see only exists between the bullets.

While this is all a tall order, by now you should have the tools to attend to this work with grace and ease, if you choose to do so. It is incredibly important to master these principles because the next phase of our journey will be driven by the Scorpio archetype, which is all about alchemy and transformation. In other words, it is manifestation time. If you are still holding on to blame mentality and judgments of any kind, you might want to invest in a good set of knee pads. As thought becomes form with increasing speed, your inner experience of fear will become your reality faster than lightning. Saturn in Scorpio will bring you to your knees over and over again until you align your consciousness more fully with love, compassion and peace.

While this may sound overwhelming, know that we will be supported in this process over the next few weeks in great abundance. There are, in fact, so many ways during this lunar cycle that other planets are supporting this opportunity, I had to choose one to focus on because there were too many to mention.

Mercury, who rules the Mind, moved into Libra just after the New Moon this past weekend. With the messenger planet participating in Saturn’s last days in Libra by joining him there, it’s like being in the exam room and finding out at the very last minute that the test is going to be open-book: How great is that! And the synchronicity that I love the most is that at the very moment Saturn shifts into Scorpio, so does Mercury. This movement will allow our Minds to inform us of everything we need to know in order to make this transition as informed and supported as possible.

Life will be providing you plenty of opportunities over the next few weeks to face your opinions, judgments, fears and anxieties in order to transform them into balance. Things have likely been getting more intense already. The ongoing Pluto/Uranus square (read article below from July 15th) is exact again this very day, heating up the lightning flashes of change and transformation both inward and in the world at large. Because of the astrological principles of rulership, there is a direct correlation between what Pluto is up to and what Saturn is doing. If Pluto is creating massive change in the world (and Uranus is helping make these changes occur in sudden, dramatic fashion) then Saturn is going to utilize this opportunity to teach us acceptance and forgiveness. The alternative is to suffer; but remember that suffering is optional.

Pause. Breathe. Pray. When some person or situation in your life causes you to feel upset, take a moment and put your hand on your heart, take a deep breath and say to yourself, “I accept that my life is a reflection of my consciousness.” If an old hurt or betrayal continues to trouble you, consider the value of stepping into forgiveness. Your prayer can be, “I am ready to completely heal this old wound and choose forgiveness now.” When confronted with a world event that frightens you, say to yourself, “No matter how this appears to me, I choose to see peace.”

I will write more about the whopper of a Full Moon that’s coming up at the end of the month. In the meanwhile, trust yourself and the process you have been engaged in for the past two and a half years. You are further along than you probably think you are. The more you pluck out the splinters in your heart, the more excited you will become about finding the next one that needs your attention. Every healing yields results and this is just another one in a long line of moments in your expanding consciousness. I imagine you are as prepared for Saturn’s test as you could possibly need to be. Pencils in hand; now, go!
