Full Moon In Sagittarius – Thursday June 12th!

This is a very big Full Moon and it brings along with it a tremendous amount of Love and Healing. I will add something that is unusual for my writing and that is a qualification: If and only IF you are truly doing your work will you be able to benefit from this time. I say this because Saturn is involved and when the Great Teacher participates in any lunation, he is bringing with him his demand for excellence and the commitment to hard work that is part of the Kharmic contract we all sign as we come into this experience of life.

Full Moons reveal that which is normally hidden and this particular one is very rooted in scoping out the Truth for it is in the sign of Sagittarius the Archer, whose obsession for plucking his arrows everywhere is symbolic of our search for higher ground, wisdom and illuminating the path to enlightenment. Saturn asks us to do our absolute best work and show up for our lessons diligently and we will be rewarded. Of course, Consciousness IS its own reward so if you’re still looking for the Santa Claus version of the Divine, this Full Moon may point that out without apology.

Saturn first began to Trine Chiron when he moved into Scorpio at the end of 2012, right before the powerful solstice when life as we knew it ceased to be. A Trine implies wide open flow of energy such that we have equal access to both. In this case the power to heal the deepest of wounds (Chiron) and the structure to rework life in a new way based on what we are learning (Saturn) are working together in complete harmony. Through their various retrogrades, they have met up in this fashion four times already (November 13, 2012, March 21, 2013, October 12, 2013) and have one more on August 6th to wrap up this hugely significant healing cycle. Humanity is being healed at a profound level through this aspect and the fact that this Trine is exact at the same moment as a Full Moon makes this a turning point for us all.

Additionally, Venus is Opposing Saturn today and so therefore also connecting with Chiron in a productive and creative angle, the 60 degree Sextile. You may be reading this and thinking to yourself that you have no idea what any of this means. Thankfully, you don’t have to. But know this: These three archetypes are front and center today interacting powerfully because the geometry of moving bodies through space declares that they are connected. I like to call this dinging, that imaginary sound that points in space make when they create a perfect shape in the cosmos. So the archetype of Kharmic Life Lessons (Saturn), the archetype of great Healing (Chiron) and the archetype of Love and the Heart Center (Venus) are dinging the heck out of this Full Moon.

Here’s what this picture is saying. Saturn does what he always does which is to declare that we are in exam mode. We are being tested in that way that life is always a bit of a test. Venus Opposes him and says, how about testing humanity in the area of Love and living from the Heart? Chiron pipes in and says, well, we’ve been up to a mighty process to heal humanity for the past 20 months, so I think they are now ready for this at an accelerated level. And the Full Moon makes it a harvest moment where we get to release what no longer serves us and see deeply into the darkness to discover more of who we really are. It’s a magnificent moment indeed for us to see the Truth of who we are, what we want and where we are going. The Full Moon will also allow us to release any baggage that is still holding us back.

Mercury is retrograde and Neptune just turned inward as well. Because of this, we may not get wind of all the beauty that this moment has for us for a few weeks. Rest assured, something powerful is happening to you at the level of Consciousness. Stay diligent to your practice, release the grip of the Mind and drop into the Heart at every corner and you can’t go wrong.

The essence of the Sagittarius archetype of the search for higher ground and profound spiritual Truth. Let this moment lift you up as you celebrate the Full Moon, which will be exact at 9:10pm PDT. Sag is a Mutable Fire Sign, which means he resonates with the element of fire and the mutable quality means he’s all about flexibility and change. That’s one of the reasons why he’s so about stimulation and movement. This is definitely a Full Moon ritual moment to go big or go home. And don’t forget the combustion, so burn a candle or light a bonfire as you dance around in celebration.

why do you use the actual real work constellation for the planets and not the real world constellation for the moon?
this last full moon the moon was in the actual real world constelation of scorpio, you can look out the window and see it.
    thanks

Luke, I use the same system for the planets and the moon – Western astrology, tropical zodiac.

I am wondering why you dont use a reality based system. Its hard for me to suspend my disbelief when i look outside and see the moon in scorpio and the tropical zodiac says that it is “in” sagitarius.

    thanks

You are mistaking what is known as the sidereal signs which relate to the position of stars that make up the constellations and the tropical zodiac which is a division of the ecliptic into 12 equal 30 degree segments. The constellations are not at ALL equal and there is a shifting that has occurred with when the seasons begin and the alignment with these constellations. Western astrology has never actually been focused on the constellations, but the archetypal segments of these 30 degree divisions. This is all very technical, but the bottom line is that an astrologer using the tropical house system is working with evenly divided archetypal energy – nothing to do with the fixed stars in the cosmos that are associated with those archetypes. Apples and oranges, as the saying goes.

I understand what you are saying but you are mistaken in saying that western astrology has nothing to do with the actual constellations, because it was originally written down as a recording of where the Star constellations were in the sky over 2000 years ago. So it started as a reflection of the actual space we live in but it was not updated with the procession of the equinoxes and is now an abstract archetype… All very interesting.
